The only major expenditure of the Association is that incurred in the printing and distribution of the Newsletter. The current cost is about £250 per issue. The committee only asks for subscriptions to be paid when funds are low. The result of this policy has been that requests for payment of subscriptions have been made approximately every second year. Not everyone responds immediately to our call and payments are spread over the intervening two years. Some people pay at the reunion, some when they are reminded by the receipt of a newsletter. It is, though, important that members should keep up to date with subscriptions.

Checking your subscription record

The address labels for the some issues of the Newsletter have carried payment record codes printed in red below the address. For example, the code y 8 0 4 indicated payments having been made at inauguration, in 1998, in 2000 and in 2004. Some confusion has arisen in the case of code such as 8 0 2(£10) 4. The £10 in brackets means that the member paid £10 in 2002. It does not represent an amount owing. If you are still unsure about your payment record please send an e-mail via the link on the ‘Contact Us’ page and you  will receive a copy of your record.

How to pay

Go to the ‘Contact Us’ page, download the Application/ Renewal form, and follow the instructions.
We have already considered offering payment via Paypal but transaction costs on small amounts make the system too costly in percentage terms - actually 7.4% (to TGSOSA not to you)
